The Amazon Village is classified as “Special Ecological Lodging” by Embratur – The Brazilian Tourism Bureau. The Village consists of a central “open air” lodge surrounded by 12 bungalows, most of them with two separate rooms.
There are 29 apartments, all with mosquito screens, two single beds, private bathroom with hot water shower, fan and veranda with a hammock. The maximum capacity is of 58 guests in double rooms. No air conditioning in the apartments.
Electricity for the Amazon Village is supplied by the city of Manaus and interruptions may occur due to strong winds that can knock down tree branches and affect the transmission line. Guests will and an emergency flashlight in the room.
The Amazon Village is located 30km (18.75 miles) far from Manaus, on the banks of Puraquequara Lake, upstream Puraquequara River. Because of the acid water pH, mosquitoes and viruses which cause dengue, cholera, yellow fever, etc. may not proliferate in the area.
